Bio-identical pellet therapy provides a steady consistent level of hormone for 3-4 months for women and 4-5 months for men, sometimes longer. Bio-identical means the hormones are molecularly structured to be identified as self made in the body. The pellets used at Essential health are over 99% pure bio-identical hormone. Other pellets may contain 3-4% filler.

Pellets are placed in the subcutaneous tissue in both men and women. Testosterone pellets for both men and women while women can also support healthy estrogen levels by receiving estradiol pellets as well.

A study in Finland published 2015 followed women for 15 years on estradiol and progesterone and found no increase in cancer risk but found a great benefit to aging well with heart and brain protection. By avoiding oral pills for estrogen it was found that it negated a potential increase risk in blood clots or strokes.
